KSRTC buses, which bore the brunt of the 12-hour statewide hartal, last Friday told the High Court at least 70 buses were destroyed in stone pelting from agitators.
Sources said that more than 50 people have been detained and the arrests will depend on their questioning.
The cops are also examining whether any financial aid has been extended to the miscreants from any quarter for indulging in apparently organised violence.

The decision has been taken owing to the apprehensions that the details may disturb the social atmosphere.
At least 819 others have been kept under preventive detention in connection with Friday's Popular Front of India hartal.
The court directed the government to submit a report before October 17.
