Many of the matinee idols who rule the silver screen had a hard time before they became super stars. While some of them bury their perilous past, few choose to keep their humble beginnings abreast, often recounting their days of struggle to inspire and encourage others. Vijay Sethupathy, the Vikram Vedha star, is one among them.
While taking part in an award ceremony recently, the current Tamil sensation opened up about his travails in his formative years in cinema.
Sethupathy, who began his acting career with minor roles 13 years ago, is considered one of the most bankable stars in Kollywood. His choice of movies and incredible acting skills are lauded by the audience and critics alike.
Recalling his past Vijay Sethupathy said that he used to wait outside the houses of several directors. He used to carry his photographs in various poses in the hope to impress them. He used to return home late at night in those days, to give an impression to his family that he was busy in films.
Vijay Sethupathy is loved immensely by the Tamil audience as they fondly call him ‘makkal selvan’. His inspiring words are often enthusiastically accepted by his fans. The video of the speech that he had made recently at Chennai Film Festival has already gone viral on social media and the youth have already begun to celebrate it.
The actor had said that cinema is not anybody’s private possession. “Anybody can be a part of movies. Once you are in, all are equal as cinema is nobody’s private property,” said the actor.
Vijay Sethupathy’s words are a hit among the youth and social media just like his movies.
