Kochi: Prithviraj Sukumaran's wife Supriya Menon takes the part of a business partner as the family's newly-floated production company Prithviraj Productions launches its maiden venture. Sony Pictures International makes their entry into regional markets as a partner in '9,' directed by Janeus Mohammed.
The production has started rolling and the actor has shared its first look on his Facebook page.
The first look gives the appearance of a thriller, and there have been reports that it would be a science fiction and that he would be playing a scientist. However, Prithvi hasn't revealed any detail on that.
He himself plays the lead, but other artistes have not been revealed.
Prithvi posted on his Facebook page that Sony Pictures officials are at the shoot location and that their presence gives him great joy and confidence.
The production started rolling on April 9 as Prithvi's driver and make-up artist Pramod led the pooja ceremony.
Prithvi had tweeted earlier, as he introduced the project, that Sony's entry into Malayalam cinema is a milestone in the industry's history. He said he and his wife and business partner Supriya were proud that they could bring Sony here. "Prithviraj Productions and Sony Pictures International Productions proudly present..our maiden venture.. 9! @SonyPicsIndia," he tweeted.

Sony, one of the biggest names in international cinema itself, produced the Akshay Kumar starrer 'PadMan' this year.
