Kottarakara: A former lawyer for solar scam accused Saritha S Nair has deposed in a court that she included the names of former chief minister Oommen Chandy and other UDF leaders in her letter to the judicial inquiry panel prodded by K B Ganesh Kumar MLA.
Saritha included four pages in her letter to the Sivarajan Commission, adding the names of UDF leaders, lawyer Feni Balakrishanan told the First Class Judicial Magistrate in Kottarakara.
From his deposition:
The conspiracy involving Ganesh Kumar took place in Kottarakara on May 13, 2015. The MLA's personal assistant Pradeep Kumar and relative Sharanya Manoj were allegedly part of it.
The letter presented to the solar commission had 25 pages. It had only 21 pages when I received it from Saritha at the Pathanamthitta district jail.
It was then handed over to Sharanya Manoj. She and Pradeep Kumar drafted a letter as per instructions from Ganesh Kumar. Saritha was given the draft and added the extra four pages the same day.
His expulsion from the UDF cabinet after he was caught in a dispute with his wife is known to be the provocation behind the conspiracy.
Feni's deposition comes as part of a petition filed by Sudheer Jacob seeking a probe into the conspiracy behind Saritha's letter.
The case will be heard on January 19 again.
'Chennithala was also targeted'
Saritha and Ganesh Kumar had plans to drag in the leader of opposition Ramesh Chennithala also into the controversy, Feni Balakrishnan said after his deposition in court. He says he fell out with Saritha as he opposed this move.
He also said that Saritha and her accomplices were using the letter as a bargaining chip at the behest of the former minister who was trying to take a revenge on his adversaries.
