OviyaBigg Boss contestant Oviya, who recently left the show citing medical reasons has been summoned by Nazarathpet police.
Reportedly, the complainant said that participants in the show were asked to stay inside a closed compound for 100 days and could leave only with the permission of the producers.
Further, the complainant claimed that on August 4, the TV channel had telecast visuals of Oviya attempting to commit suicide by immersing herself in a pool inside the Bigg Boss house. Her suicide attempt was telecast on TV to garner TRP ratings for the show and the channel, he said.
The petitioner has asked for the show to be banned on the grounds of protecting Tamil culture.
Meanwhile, police told a daily that Oviya’s personal secretary has denied about the suicide attempt.
