Yes, you heard it right! Actor MP Innocent might be a regular face in Malayalam movies but his busy schedules keeps him away from watching movies in a theater.
But now, after a hiatus of 12 years, actor Innocent found time watched the recently released movie Njan Marykutty, Innocent played the role of a church priest in the movie based on the life of a transgender.
Talking about what he felt about the movie, Innocent said, “It's been 10-12 years since I went to a theater to watch a movie. The last one I went to a cinema hall was Sathyan Anthikad's Rasathanthram. When Ranjith Sankar approached me for Njan Marykutty movie, I had apprehentions about it. Transgender is not a common community in our state. Although we have seen them at places, I had my doubts if a movie based of them will be understood by common people.”
He said, “My son, after coming from the movie, told me about the enthusiastic audience he met at the theater. Appacha, the movie is such a delight that people stood up and clapped, he said. It's all because of the satisfaction that a movie gives.”
“The artists in the movie is yet another plus point. I don't need to say anything about Jayasurya. You have seen his efforts in the film. Suraj Venjarammoodu, who once was seen in the role of a peon in a collector's office in Ranjith Sankar's movie, appears as a collector in Njan Marykutty and he has done a brilliant job. Other stars like Joju, Jewel Mary, Shobha, Shivji Guruvayoor and Aju Varghese all have managed to deliver good performances in the movie. There are even many others who are not the real actors but will give a real feel for sure,” he said.
