Kochi: In more startling revelations in the actress attack case, it has emerged that actor Dileep, an accused, had tried to reach a settlement with main accused Pulsar Suni.
A move for the settlement was made after a letter purportedly written by or at the behest of Suni reached Dileep. In the letter, Suni accused the actor of making him a scapegoat and said the duo knew each other at least from the time of shooting for the film 'Sound Thoma.'
However, the settlement plan did not work out as Suni's prison mate got whiff of the move. Dileep reportedly then approached the police, stating that he was being blackmailed. The latest revelation was made by Pulsar Suni during police interrogation.
The police arrested Pulsar Suni, who had worked as a driver of many film personalities, six days after the incident. The letter which Pulsar Suni purportedly wrote to actor Dileep had caused a furor.
Dileep had then undergone a marathon 13-hour grilling at the Aluva police club. He was arrested on July 10. The actor had approached the police saying that the prime accused tried to blackmail him from jail. Things went awry for Dileep after the police found discrepancies in his statements.
The actor is accused of plotting the attack. The young actress was abducted and assaulted in a moving car by a gang in Kochi on February 17.
