Kannur: The walk-in interview conducted by a private airline for ground-handling vacancies at the upcoming Kannur airport witnessed a massive rush of applicants. Over 4,000 young men and women turned up at the venue, Malabar Residency hotel, causing traffic jam in the area.
The queue extended from the hotel to the road and when things seemed to go out of control, the organizers stopped the interview. They asked the job aspirants to hand over the applications and leave.
Hundreds of youth, majority of them women, had reached the venue from even far-off districts. Some of them had arrived one day earlier. The applications were invited online for the jobs, which needed SSLC qualification and age below 25 years.
