Kochi: If rumors from the Kollywood are to be believed, Antony Varghese, who captured the attention of critics and audience alike through his role in Angamaly Diaries, has got a chance of a lifetime. Unconfirmed reports say that he will be playing one of the lead characters in an upcoming Mani Ratnam movie.
Antony, who has just one Malayalam movie to his credit so far, had impressed all by a neat portrayal of 'Vincent Pepe' in Lijo Jose Pellissery's Angamaly Diaries.
The National Award winning director Mani Ratnam's new multi-starrer – featuring Fahadh Faasil, Vijay Sethupathi, Arvind Swami and Simbu – is expected go on the floors from January.
The project, tipped to be a high-budget action-thriller, also stars Jyothika and Aishwarya Rajesh.
The music will be composed by A R Rahman, while Santosh Sivan will wield the camera. National Award winner Sreekar Prasad will take care of its editing.
Antony is currently awaiting the release of his second movie in Malayalam, Swathanthryam Ardharathriyil by debut director Tinu Pappachan.
Having already worked with Arvind Swami in Roja, Thalapathi, Bombay and Kadal, this will be Ratnam's maiden collaboration with Fahadh, Vijay Sethupathi and Simbu.
Earlier, there were reports that Vijay Sethupathi would be seen playing a brief role in the bilingual movie. But, it is now clear that the Vikram Vedha actor will have a full-length role and will be seen playing a cop in it.
The film will have Fahadh, Arvind Swami and Simbu playing brothers in the film and what converges in the life of these three brothers will be the crux of the story.
It is not yet clear as to what roles Jyothika and Aishwarya Rajesh will be playing in the film.
