DQ's 'Oru Bhayankara Kamukan' strangled but not dead, says Lal Jose

Director Lal Jose has dismissed reports that his much-awaited project Oru Bhayankara Kamukan with Dulquer Salmaan in the lead has been shelved.

The news about the makers scraping the project has been doing the rounds in some online news portals for the last few days.

Dulquer's fans were excited about the movie penned by Unni R which will also see Lal Jose reuniting with his Vikramadithyan star Dulquer Salmaan.

It was reported that the movie was shelved due to Dulquer's busy schedule. Meanwhile, Lal Jose told Manorama Online that the project was on and the delay was due to budget overruns.

"The budget of the movie exceeded the earlier estimated one, as the screenplay progressed. So some changes will have to be made. This is the reason why the movie is being postponed. Dulquer's schedule has absolutely nothing to do with this," said Lal Jose.

Lal Jose said that the already prepared screenplay demanded a huge budget which was not feasible and that the project will take some time to get running.

He also told Manorama Online that cine fans may see him pursue other directorial ventures before Oru Bayankara Kamukan.
