Thiruvananthapuram: Clashes erupted at the first screening of the much talked about erotic French 3D film 'Love' at the 20th IFFK here on Wednesday.

The clash was unleashed by those who did not get tickets for the show. Delegates turned unruly after people, who had reserved for the show earlier using the facility, were let in before the ones standing in the queue.

However, the police took control of the situation soon. Other than minor physical scuffles, no untoward incident was reported.

The show at the Nishagandhi auditorium witnessed a packed crowd.

It was the first screening of erotic film at the festival. The English-French speaking movie, directed by French filmmaker Gasper Noe, is centred on the subject of sexuality and is noted for the overwhelming presentation of explicit moments.

The story revolves around love and sexual encounters between an American youth named Murphy, his girlfriend Electra and another girl who is their neighbour.

A large number of spectators had arrived to watch the film at the theater which has a capacity of 1,200 seats. 60 per cent of the seats were reserved in advance. Delegates had made a beeline to the ticket counters by 8.00 pm itself for the 10.30 pm show.
