Kochi: Actor Jayaram has joined the league of writers and launched 'Aalkoottathil Oraanappokkam' authored by himself and published by Manorama Books.

Kuttappan, a long-time mahout of Jayaram's tusker received the first copy of the book.

Launching the book actor Mammootty said that true talents are those who can find humour in each visual.

“Mukesh and Innocent are two of such prodigies in Malayalam cinema. Actor Jayaram is slightly different. He is a marvelloous entertainer. Time flies by when he keeps talking. Jayaram has talked copiously about elephant and Chenda (a traditional percussion instrument).

“Jayaram, who has proved his mettle in acting and in percussive art has now forayed into literature. It won't be a surprise if Sahitya academy awards too come knocking at his door in future,” Mammootty said while launching the book

K.C. Narayanan, editor-in-charge, literary magazine Bhashaposhini, writer and critic Prof. M.K. Sanu, Litterateurs Sethu, K.L. Mohanavarma, Leela Menon and actor Siddique spoke on the occasion.
