'Yennai Arindhaal': Audience review A still from the movie

Thala fever is at its peak with 'Yennai Arindhaal' hitting the silverscreen. A record opening is expected with the film opening in more than 1,000 screens worldwide.

Yennai Arindhal is Ajith's 55th film. This is Gautam Menon's first big movie after a span of three years. And going by the first reports, the movie has all the potential to be a blockbuster.

Here's a look at some early reactions to the movie on Twitter:

The initial buzz brings us the excitement of Thala fans; most of them seem to be happy to see the star in a seemingly well scripted film. Some, who took to twitter, even said that actor Arun Vijay, who shares screen space with Ajith, shouldn't have been handed such a vital role in an Ajith movie!

Industry reports say that Gautham Menon's fluid narrative is packed with a right blend of emotion and action which can move people to tears. The film garners good appreciation for its technical side too. Dan Macarthur's cinematography is on par with Hollywood's action sequences. Most of the tweets indicate the film to be 'racy', where action picks up in the second half.

The film's soundtrack and BGM is receiving accolades as well. The music is done by Harris Jayaraj, who has worked with Gautham Menon in most of his movies. And of course, there is Trisha! Viewers seem to be quite awed by the leading lady, and the tweets lead us to believe that Trisha has ample screen space, which she has put to good use.

The film seems to be riding on the back of a strong script and a bunch of heart-warming cast. Actor Arun Vijay is also praised for his role in the film.

Amid such fervour, there still are some, who are disappointed with the flick owing to mostly the running time of the movie, which is 2 hours, 56 minutes and 48 seconds, almost equal to that of Shankar's 'I'. Reactions also suggest that some found the movie 'slow' and 'uninspiring'.

The Twitteratie verdict: There is enough and more for a Thala fan - despite Arun Vijay sharing the screen space. It has the perfect blend of story, tears and emotion to make you want to go back and see it again.
